A Sample of customer feedback:
Just last week Steeroids was installed on my 1980 Vette. What an amazing product. Finally my Vette is nimble and steers in the direction pointed, with no slop in the steering at all. It also made the front end feel more planted, from the road surface through the steering wheel. It now feels like I’m driving a sports car. I did a lot of research before purchasing the Steeroids product. My money was well spent.
We aligned the car this morning and finished the alignment about 11:00. I took the car out for 150 mile ride. Wow!!!!!
Bump steer is gone, the steering is right on, very tight with no free play, no oil leaks, very smooth and the car goes through corners like my Z06, well almost. I am very satisfied with this product. You guys have done an excellent job in the design of the brackets and steering shaft. It looks much better than the factory steering and was a piece of cake to align. I can’t believe you are not selling these my the thousands.

I absolutely love this rack & pinion set-up from Steeroids. It takes a tired, old, sloppy drag link setup and makes the car super fun to drive. It is a home run for sure and your service is the best as well. I am a walking advertisement for your company.
Greetings, I just received my “Steeroids” order yesterday. The product is of excellent quality, and engineering. I can’t wait to finish the frame of my 77 ‘vette to install this bad boy. I don’t think an Apache Helicopter can burst those hoses supplied in the kit. Also the finish on the mounting brackets is incredible. Once again, thank you
I used to drive GT racecars – this kit makes my Corvette like one! I can’t wait to do some autocrossing with this quick ratio!
This is an excerpt from one of our customers on The Corvette Forum:
“As far as Steeroids help goes…all i can say is that it is very straight forward and actually very easy to install… simply follow the instructions, they are very easy to understand and there arnt a whole lot of them actually, just a page or two… one thing that i did do was when they told me it had been shipped and was on its way, i went ahead and removed my old stuff (everything from the rag joint to the wheels) and kinda prepped for the install by cleaning under there and touch-up painting where the old parts were removed etc… that way when the big brown truck rolled in, i was ready to bolt it in… that gave me a nice fresh start on the install rather than starting it after a couple hours of work removing the old “junk”… and i DO, intentionaly mean JUNK…cause once youve experienced driving your vette with Steeroids, you will wonder how you ever enjoyed driving it with the antiquated, old fashion steering that came in these 25-30 yr old cars… and please note that i had a newly rebuilt steering gear, a brand new power ram and other new parts in mine before…and now i wished that i hadnt wasted my time and money and went straight to Steeroids in the 1st place… i can honestly say that my car now drives and steers like a brand new car and im not exagerating when i say that… if i had to find one negitive thing to say about the system i think it would be that my car dosnt seem to turn as sharp as it used to…for example when making a u-turn…i need a little more room to do so… but in my opinion that is a VERY small price to pay for all of the pluses…”
“I bought your power steering rack and pinion kit for Nova/Camaro. I own a 1974 Olds Omega which is an X-body. I have a 455 Olds in it with headers. I had no problems installing the kit. I also have a Moroso 7 qt oil pan and had to dent it very slightly to clear the mounting bracket.Over all it was a no hassle install and it works beautifully! It steers better than my 1989 WS6 Formula Firebird!”
“I’m just writing to comment on the new kit I installed in my 68 Corvette. I bought one of the first batch produced. Needless to say it has been in my possession for some time but I have had the car down for various upgrades and just got it back together. My only comment is WOW what an improvement that is for this car. The kit was top notch and directions clear and precise. So far I’m extremely with happy with the results… Just wanted to let you know that I will be highly recommending this upgrade to any I come in contact with. I also used your clutch linkage kit with similar results, very nice. Thanks for developing these great products…”
I can’t tell you how pleased I am with your Steeroids/Corvette rack… what a difference it makes in handling. I rave at every show and race about your product.
I just took the Flaming River rack and pinion kit off of my Mustang and replaced it with yours. I am really happy with your kit over theirs, and especially with the customer service and knowledgeable staff. Please feel free to use me as a reference if anyone is considering your kit!
This was the first directly bolt-on kit that I have ordered that was ACTUALLY BOLT ON! I didn’t need to use my drill or hammer to make things go together – they actually fit right out of the box.
I just want to say thanks for the professionalism and speed you and your company have used in handling this “glitch”. In a business like yours (and mine) quick and positive response to problems is what keeps you at the top of your field. I will be recommending you and your company to all my friends.
Thanks again, Bert.
I love the “Steeroids” Power rack and pinion system, you guys did your homework on that one!
Thanks again for Your quick Service. I have the Steering in my Shop and have mount it to the Corvette. It fits perfekt. Hope to make more Buisiness with You in Future.

(Corvette Forum Thread:) I emailed customer service and got a reply back right away. This is clearly a company that cares about it’s customers and reputation!
(Corvette Forum thread, regarding an item damaged in shipping:) With one phone call the replacement was at my door in a couple of days. No questions asked. They even apologized for the problem. They do stand behind their product, and they never tried to make me feel like I was a dumbazz (although they would probably be correct)… They were very helpful during the installation. I ran into a couple of clearance problems that must ot be common in C3’s. They talked me through all of them. again, they were obviously trying to be very helpful, rather than getting the bad attitude I get at most help lines. I’ve called them with questions about specific headers clearance. Again, very helpful. The Steeroids is one of the modifications that I am most pleased with.
(Referring a friend to us…) I told him how great you guys have been to work with and how great your parts looked so he’s following my lead. Since you handled my order professionally I told him to speak with you and that you would take care of him.
(Regarding a beautiful American LeMans Series race car…) The car was put away in 85 and never saw the light of day again until 4 years ago when we began a complete bare frame bare block restoration, everything is original to the seats and window nets, except for two “bolt on” upgrades, a BeCool racing Radiator and dual electric fans, and what has turned out to be the most dynamic change in the car, the addition of a “Steeroids” rack and pinion … The addition of the power steering rack has converted this mean handling 700HP lumbering dinosaur, into an easy to handle, well, still a beast. The ease of installation was incredible, and our concerns on loss of clearance turned out to be unfounded … I’m sold on your products.
Thanks for the great customer service. It is not very often that I find good service these days … I will definitely pass the word along!!!! Thank you again.
Just installed my Sharkbar II tonight. Very nice piece. Very well engineered. With new carpet, seats, Simpson belts, looks very nice. I’ll send some pictures soon. Thanks!
Every aspect of your business, from your website, to sales, to delivery, to customer service is top rate. Great to do business with you.
I used your Rod Links clutch linkage kit on my Corvette, and it is the best seventy bucks I have spent on the car! The clutch is better than ever.
Some comments from a tread on corvetteforum.com
The Corvette Steeroids is one of the best things I have done to my car.
I have no regrets getting the Steeriods system, makes my vette much more enjoyable to drive than the old manual system.
I had a sloppy steering box and leaking power assist. I chose Steeroids instead of new replacement box, cylinder, control, hoses, etc. I am very glad I did. The Steeroids installation was quite straight forward. The bracket and gusset fit was surprisingly good. I had no problem aligning the u-joint chain to be straight. The most difficult part of the installation was connecting one of the hoses to the PS pump.

I put one of the first Steeroid’s systems on my 71 Coupe many years ago and it’s been great. There’s no way that the stock system can come close due to the control valve etc, and if you want road feel a rack is much better than a power box. Fantastic linear feel and fast ratio. The Steeroid’s rack is one of the best things I’ve done to my C3, which include a 700R4 OD Trans, 400HP-406ci, and a modded HVAC system that delivers more fresh air at cruise.
I had a steeroids kit installed on my 69 convert inplace of a perfect working original PS system. I could not believe the difference. If you drive the car aggressive then you will want the steeriods as it makes things a lot easier to control plus it cleans up the engine bay greatly making tons of room.

i put the steroids rack on my 79 vett and lowered the front 1″ with mono coils and there is plenty of room. my headers hang lower then the rack. awsome upgrade.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with SpeedDirect from sales through support, and I let the Corvette Forum know.
Some more Corvette Forum comments:
I have about 300 miles on my install [Corvette Steeroids]. The installation was a ‘piece of cake’. The installation instructions are good and comprehensive. The one thing I did notice was a clearance issue with one of the hydraulic lines. I was able to bend it enough to resolve it. I can feel no play in my setup. I find it very responsive and I have not noticed any ‘bump steer’.
Corvette Forum Member
I just put a steeriods rack on my ’69, and yes I would do it again. I do not have any of the play in the steering wheel… Absolutely the smallest steering wheel movement will start to turn the wheels. The quicker ratio is welcome also. I didn’t have any problems with the install and alignment was breeze for the shop. [The bump steer adjustments] are set up a lot better than stock was in my opinion. I haven’t got the car on the track yet but on the street it responses much better than especially a worn out stock system.

Went from manual to Steeriods, once I got the angles correct on the u-joints it has performed exellent, no binding and no steering slop what so ever.
Corvette Forum Member
i put steeroids on my 79. and love it so i just sold my flaming river 16:1 steering gear box.
Corvette Forum Member
(When asked if he would install our Steeroids kit again:) would do it again in heart beat…….one of the best improvements i made…..no regrets on this one

Mine has been in 3 years had have had no problems. One of the best improvements I could have done.
Corvette Forum Member
Easy to install. No play at all with mine. Installed it this winter, and have not been to the alignment shop yet, (And i have only beent testing the car for 5min.)so it is to early for me to say anything aboyt quality. but a real good first impression.

I wanted to let you know how much I like the head light conversion kit. Each piece was first rate and the installation was easy as stated. The length of the harnesses were perfect. I was able to tuck away everything making the add-ons near undetectable. My Corvette is custom, but I’m really anal about how I install after market parts. I like stealth. I stopped at my local Vette shop and he was doing a Steeroids install on a beautifull 66 roadster. He had another car waiting for the conversion as well. Guess that may be my next buy from you!
Thanks for your customer service. [The customer representative] was extremely helpful on the phone and followed up with me to make sure that we got everything right on the order. Again, it is greatly appreciated!
Your Steeroids rack and pinion (Corvette) was one of the only aftermarket components on this car that actually fit! Usually you have to re-drill and cut things to get them to go on, but yours bolted right in.

(When offered a military discount on his order:) Well thats just awesome! Gotta love the military discount… Ive got a 78 vette project im doing and you guys seemed to be the most helpful with the steeroids. Thanks a lot for all the help and stuff you guys do a great job. You’ll definitely be getting more business from me.
I am so happy with the results as my car is now fun to drive. Thanks for your help… The power control valve although new [was] absolute garbage compared to your rack. I wasted $600.00 in total by the time I replaced all of the steering components.
Hi Guys, I have just installed the new clutch linkage set up you offer for the 1970 Nova. I could not be more pleased !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks
…Getting the old system out was the hardest thing.Besides the fact it was 103 in the garage up on stands, laying on my back all day and nasty crap from old system,I had a good time. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT !!!! what a difference in the steering it made. Thought I was driving the C6 (almost)…
(1974 Corvette – Steeroids Rack & Pinion Steering Conversion) The process was easy and the instructions were well written and easy to follow. The process took most of the day (including 1 hour for lunch) but we were not in any real hurry and spent a lot of time shooting the breeze.
We did have to remove the lock washers and grind a little on the drivers side motor mount as the instructions said that we might. We also had to dimple one header tube to clear the set screw on the u joint.
Other than that the installation went off without a hitch, I was able to help as the shop had no problem with that and enjoyed getting dirty under that car again, it hasn’t had much use lately but I assure you that it will be getting a lot of use from now on. I just love the way it drives now. The car is a whole different animal with that steering on it. I had a chance to test it on some twisty’s on Hwy 8 on my 245 mile journey home. It is an amazing difference. There is no more sloppy feeling and it goes where you point it quickly and smoothly. When I used to power through a turn there was some resistance from the steering, not any more. All in All I would say that the conversion is AWSOME.
I have the steeroids system installed and it works beautifully!!!! I love it, it makes the 65 mustang drive perfect. I highly recommend your system.
My suspension guy put a flaming river rack in his can and cannot get rid of the bumpsteer. He is very disappointed in it. He was impressed with the Steeroids Rack on my car. He said it handled much better and very easy to fine tune. You may want to give steeroids.com a look before you make you final decision. I am happy so far. Not many miles but the steering is great from what I can tell. Light years better than the original box I had.
I just finished installing the Steeroids kit. I am NOT a mechanic and I did it in my garage with my own tools. I just wanted to let you know it went in smooth with no problems and I love it. I just put 200 miles on the car this weekend and it drove great – perhaps better at 80 mph than at ‘normal’ speeds!
I just want to tell you folks how extremely happy i am with your customer service. I’ve bought two Steeroids rack & pinion kits for my 69 camaros, and had minor issues with both which were remedied very quickly and courteously. I’ve spent over $30K between my two camaros and can honestly say that the rack and pinion kits were;
1. The best money spent.
2. The easiest directions to follow.
3. The best customer support.
Thank you so much for being an outstanding company for us enthusiasts! No matter how many Camaros i own in my lifetime, every one will get a Steeroids kit.
(After having an issue of receiving an incorrect part) … “I am glad you’ll go above and beyond to make it right. I dont see that much outside my two professions: Firefighting & Paramedic. For me, you saved my day!”
(After receiving an incorrect part) “Thanks! I’ve never had such a pleasant time dealing with a problem. You folks truly are top-notch! This sounds wierd but i’m glad i had a problem so that i could witness the type of customer service that seems to be absent in todays world.
Keep up the great service,
I have your manual Steeroids on my 64 Corvette drag car. It runs 9 seconds in the quarter at about 145 to 146 mph and you could take your hands off the steering wheel at the end of the track it is so stable! Love the kit. [Not that SpeedDirect would endorse such activities!]
I just finished installing your Shark Bite complete front and rear suspension package. Holy @#*%! That car handles like a new car now. My buddy has been into these cars for years and said that was the best suspension upgrade he has seen for one of these cars yet [C3 Corvette]. I am really happy!
I installed the Steeroid unit, along with tubular A-arms, QA1 coil overs, disc brakes and sway bars. WOW!! Ready to take on the new stuff out on the highway…..but I won’t. But this isn’t yer grand daddy’s Nova anymore! Handling and steering response are just plain unbelievable. I highly recommend this setup to anyone who wants to bring their old muscle car up to today’s standards…and beyond. Thanks again!
I have most of these [SpeedDirect products] installed on my 1969 Corvette. It makes an old car as nice to drive as a new one.
I received the muffler inserts and fitted them this past weekend. They have worked a treat, really damped down the exhaust and has given the system a nice mellow tone which is just what I wanted. Thanks for the recommendations on fitting them.
Just installed one of your Steeroid power racks on my ’70 Nova, along with tubular A-arms, power disc brakes, QA1 adjustable coil over shocks, and sway bars. Holy moly!! What a system! The steering response and handling leave absolutely nothing to be desired! Okay, maybe some rubber on the rims that can match the performance and keep me planted to the highway. I applaud your engineering group! You guys did a super job, and the installation was a breeze. Your instructions were right on the money. If you hear of a cranberry red Yenko Deuce Nova (clone of course) leaving black streaks on the curves in western Pennsylvania, that’d be me. By the way, if Don (Yenko) were still with us, and building his super cars, I’m sure he’d be putting your steering units under each and every one of them. Keep up the great work!
One happy customer,
Holy customer service batman. You make sure that everybody at your company knows that Eric (and you too) took care of me immediately, painlessly, no fighting or hassles. I have dealt with a LOT of aftermarket corvette parts and to have customer service like I just experienced is a real breath of fresh air. I will tell everybody in my car clubs and at events what a great company Speeddirect is to deal with. It’s great to know that if a small issue comes up like this that it’s no worries and taken care of. Thanks.
In these days of “you got it, and we don’t give a $#%&” I was totally surprised to hear from you and very gratified that you took the time to call and discuss the problem with me… Again, my thanks for being a great representative for your company.
The install on the 65 [Corvette Steeroids] was as sweet as could be everything fit perfect very nice set up we like it… It was really nice install great job with the unit.
The Customer service I have received from you and your company has been first class. I look forward to working with your company in the Future as I continue to remodel my 74 Vette. Thanks again.
Regarding a custom Covette build up, the customer wrote:
“With special thanks to:
>>Steeroids for their well engineered rack and pinion set-up. Especially their part and tech services group.”
Thanks for helping me get this issue resolved. After five years of building this car [Mustang] I could tell you some horror stories about bad customer service. It is refreshing to work with a company that cares about making sure things are taken care of.
I have one of your Steeroid rack & pinion units and I love it. I am no mechanic and I installed it myself right in my garage with no problems.
I bought a rack for my 69 Camaro from you guys in 2005. I love the product and have had great service out of it.
[From Norway] Hi, I am very happy ! It has been a pleasure doing business with you all. Very professional and timely service through out. I will defiantly recommend your company to my to my friends 🙂
Best regards, Hans
I INSTALLED MY SEEROIDS RACK SYSTEM ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO IN MY 63 SPLITWINDOW COUPE AND I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED PROBLEM ONE. QUICK, RESPONSIVE AND TIGHT IS WHAT I WANTED AND STEEROIDS DELIVERED IN SPADES.
Have Steeroids installed, nice piece. All bracketry worked flawless, installed with ease, all fasteners included, Zero glitch’s.
Regarding some questions during an install: Thanks for being so responsive. Must be a Western phenomena. I live 16 miles from the White House, and no one ever responds personally, politely and rapidly to anything.
Though I drop you a line and let you know how easy it was to install the [Steeroids] kit. Kit was installed on a 1962 project car in one day of about 6 hours. The only problem I had was relocation the exhaust cross pipe. For more photo of the project car see the project page my web site www.echosierraent.com This is the second kit that I have installed, the other was on a 1964 corvette. Your instructions said three hours and that what it took. Love the way the car drives.
I am really impressed with your kit [Steeroids] – a perfect piece of engineering. By far the simplest mod I have done to the car.
That was the best aftermarket anything I have ever bought! Two thumbs up.
I just wanted to say “THANK YOU” for all your help in helping me figure out a few problems that popped up recently with my steeroids kit I installed on my 1981 Corvette. I feel that you guys helped me diagnose a problem with a faulty product that wasn’t even your fault. The brand new power steering pump that Chevrolet provided with my brand new crate motor had a broken shaft. I also checked all my back visa statements and found out that the second rack you sent me did not get charged to my visa, just like you said. Thank you for an awesome product and the GREAT customer support you guys provide. Very sincerely,
Taken from the Corvette Forum regarding our C1 (53-62) Corvette Steeroids (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-and-c2-corvettes/2634202-c1-steeroids-installation-with-many-photos.html):
“Not only is it a TRUE BOLT ON INSTALLATION it performs as a world class unit.
My 62 was used to develop the prototype parts and I have driving the car since April of 2009 with these retype parts. The difference is absolutely amazing.
The video above of the car with the stock system and the new Power R&P system is of my car. It is a dramatic improvement in the handling of the car. There is no more constant correcting of the wheel to keep the car in a straight line.
When you turn the wheel into a corner the response is immediate and positive and the return to a straight line mode is smooth and easy. There is no more bump steer at all thanks to the careful planning and research that went into the development of this kit. I would recommend this kit to anyone who wants to DRIVE their C1.
I know that I was not putting many miles on this car as it was a PIA to drive long distances with the constant correcting and the POWER STEERING BY ARMSTRONG that made it a real pleasure to parallel park.
I got acquainted with these folks when I installed their kit in my 74 L82 and pressured them to develop the same kind of kit for the C1’s as I was so pleased with the way the 74 drove.
Since April of 2009 I have put almost 20,000 miles on the 62 and it has become my favorite car. I only wish now that there was better seating in the car as after about 8 hours on the road my backside is a little sore.
I am raving about the product so much that I forgot to mention that Eric & Mark are 2 of the nicest guys that I have ever dealt with, they are true Vette folks with a genuine concern for making the experience a pleasurable one.
Any one with more specific questions or concerns please feel free to respond to this or you can PM me.”
Hello, my name is Marek K. I am from Czech Republic. Two years ago I renovated the C3 Corvette small block from 1975. I used Shark Bite Front Coil Over Kits MED 550 SB options for ride height and ability to change the stiffness of the suspension settings. With this item I am very satisfied. After some time, suffering with the original system of worm control, I decided to get Rack and Pinion Steering Kit. The change is incredible! I’m excited and grateful for this product. Now is the weak point of the car just rear suspension with a transverse spring. I decided to buy Shark Bite Rear Coil Over Kits 63-77 Single ADJ Medium.
Thanks for the fast response on my problem [with a Steeroids kit]. I was prepared to make your work sheet wrong and look bad [regarding the customer survey we include with each kit], but your problem solving was right on and I had it fixed in 1 hour. Thanks again and good luck!
I had one of your Steeroid Kits installed on my ’72 Corvette Big Block roadster 3 or 4 years ago. Everything that is written about these kits is true. I couldn’t be happier. The difference from worn-out stock to one of these Steeroid set ups is truly amazing.
The [Camaro] rack was one of the best investments I ever made on my Camaro and I bought a whole lot of shi… in the last 8 years I own it. It changed the handling character of the car into a like late style automotive like my BMW……

Several yrs ago, when your Steroids rack and pinion steering kit first came out for my C3 ‘Vette, I purchased one of your systems and I STILL have it. It is great! I love it!! Just letting you know. THX!
I must say, Speeddirect is a top notch company! Its been a pleasure to deal with you in placing my order. You are informative, professional, and up front about the company and its product/availability. When I hung up the phone with you , after placing my order, I was 100%confident I made the right decision on each option. Then the steeroids package and sway bars packages arrived,……confidence turned to pride as I watched my buddies jaw hit the floor when he saw the product. My car is gonna be BAD ASS I’m done!! (please excuse the expression) Yeah, from personell to product, I have the utmost respect and Im plugging you guys to everyone I can!! I didnt mean to get carried away, I just had to share my excitement with you! … Give those QC guys a big, “AT-A-BOY ” from me [regarding the polished aluminum control arms]… Ok, I will bring this novel to a close by saying, “Thank You so much!!”
Great Customer Service! So much so that I felt it appropriate to share my experience with a few thousand of my Camaro enthusiasts at NastyZ28.com
When I was building my 1968 Vette I had a plan! Problem was I had no idea where to find COOL enough parts for my suspension to live up to my 481 Bow Tie Blown Big Block. I planned to show this car at National Corvette only events. So I was searching high and low!! I found Speed Direct and I jumped!! I purchased along list of excellent components to include Shark Bite Rear end , coil overs front and rear , Steeroids rack and pinion, polished upper A arms, and the Shark bar 5 point harness bar. Well since then I can proudly say it runs and drives like a bat out of hell to QUOTE Meat Loaf!! Also I am happy to say the Vette wins !! Best of Show at Vettes Doin Charleston 2012, car count in excess of 300. Best motor, Best Paint and Peoples choice at a large open show and Most Extreme at Vettes At Broadway Myrle Beach Show 2012 car count in excess of 300. THANK YOU SPEED DIRECT
[Regarding an incorrect part that was sent out – we sent the correct replacement and covered shipping to get the incorrect part back to us.] Your service in this matter is very commendable. Too bad this isn’t the norm. It’s things like this that will keep me a customer of yours.
I’d like you guys to know that I am very happy with the adjustable ride (spring and shock) (soft to firm), ride height adjustability, and the look of the Sharkbite suspension system. I like the look of the C-3 best when it is lowered. Your system makes it easy to lower the rear.
